I had a bow leg problem in my right lower leg. I had it since childhood from the age of 11. I have been to several doctors but no one came up with a good treatment for it. I was referred to Dr. Chris by a doctor I was seeing at Welcare Hospital Dubai. I immediately booked an appointment and went for consultation. He discussed it with me for more than an hour, getting to know the condition and suggesting as many solutions as possible. Dr. Chris suggested Taylor Spatial Frame as the best and safest way to correct the leg. Right then and there I knew I wanted the surgery to be done by him only.

He is an excellent doctor, it's like talking to a friend. I have never come across a doctor that is so friendly. I had the surgery in November 2012 and in June 2013 I got the frame off. It's been an absolute pleasure all through the way. I didn't expect the surgery, the procedure and everything to be so easy-going. Best possible treatment ever. I can walk now perfectly, no pain, nothing.

Dr. Chris really did an excellent job with the surgery and the after-care. I cannot stress enough how good he is at his job. Any leg problems, see him, he will surely help in finding a solution.

He is the best orthopedic surgeon in the UAE. I have consulted him when I had knee problems....

I visited Saudi German Hospital for a knee injury and meet Dr. Ashfaq. Right from the beginning he recommended arthroscopy to fix the torn meniscus in my left knee. I have had both ligaments and meniscus repaired due to skiing accident many years back on my right knee and was very afraid to have an-other procedure on my left knee.

I sustained this injury in March and did a lot of physio therapy but things did not improve and finally as per doctor’s recommendation got the procedure done on December 10th.

It was a very short (15 mins) a simple procedure and I was out of the hospital the next day and am currently doing my therapy and am very pleased with Dr. Ashfaq. All along he has been excellent in educating and preparing for different stages to recovery and In Sha Allah I will be able to do normal activities within few weeks.

I will strongly recommend Dr. Ashfaq for anyone who has any ortho-related injuries and problems. To sum up, I will just say he knows what he's talking about and is very good at what he does.

In March 2012, I was playing with my family and friends on the beach when I suffered a fall and twisted my knee. I was taken to Medicare Hospital in Jumeirah where I was seen in the ER. An X-Ray and CT scan were done.

After seeing Dr. Konchwalla, the consultant orthopaedic surgeon, he confirmed that I had a comminuted intra-articular fracture of the tibial plateau.

On the 1st of April 2012, the doctor discussed the different options of treatment (conservative vs surgical) in detail. After a discussing with my husband and Dr. Konchwalla, I decided to proceed with surgery.

He discussed the risks, benefits and complications of surgery with my husband and I. The doctor said that my knee won't be normal due to the comminuted fracture. We planned to proceed with surgery on the 3rd of April 2012.

I was admitted on the 3rd of April 2012 and the following procedures were performed:

- Left knee orthoscopic-assisted intraarticular fracture fixation of tibial plateau with double plate.

- Lateral and medial meniscal repair.

- MCL reconstruction

- Bone graft

Surgery went well. I was discharged after 5 days. The doctor gave instructions with medication and mobolized non-weight bearing with the help of crutches. Unfortunately, he told me that I would have to go for another two surgeries and explained the long term outcome of the surgery. I was pleased with the progress, however I still had restricted range of movement. The doctor showed me some exercises and referred me to physiotherapy.

After 3 years of pain and still on crutches, I decided to proceed with my second surgery as the doctor advised. In October 2015, the doctor removed my pins and plates at Saudi German Hospital

I recovered fast and then I had to prepare for my third and final surgery which was a total knee replacement with revision stem. This was done on August 16th 2016 at the same hospital and it was a very unique surgery.

In present day, I feel very comfortable and I have a good range of movement with my leg. Doctor Ashfaq, I appreciate you giving me a more pain-free life. In addition, my walking has also improved thanks to the physiotherapy at the hospital.

Dr Mohammed Ashfaq is an excellent surgeon. I had an knee ACL injury, in which I injured it when I was playing sport. Dr Ashfaq operated on my knee. ACL reconstruction.

With the help of crutches I walked and I also went home the same day. Now I am playing rugby ( 6 months after the surgery)

Dr. Abhay Dandawate is one of the BEST Orthopedic Surgeons in Dubai.

I was referred to Dr Konchwalla by my GP after a shoulder injury was causing me constant pain and limiting my arm movement. After an MRI he diagnosed a shoulder impingement and very diligently explained all the courses of action open to manage this condition. I elected a permanent solution through surgery and Dr Konchwalla quickly scheduled and carried out the procedure at the Saudi German Hospital.

He performed Arthroscopic surgery to create more room for the rotator cuff by removing inflamed tissue and doing an anterior acromioplasty to remove a portion of the acromion bone, as well as removing the acromioclavicular arthritis I had as well. The surgery was perfect and I had virtual immediate relief and full mobility was restored to my shoulder with full arm raising within a month.

Two months later, after completing the physiotherapy programme Dr Konchwalla recommended, I have none of constant pain I had anymore, as well as full mobility of my arm and shoulder. I can truly recommend Dr Konchwalla for his management of my shoulder impingement challenge and his most excellent surgical skill. Thank you Dr Konchwalla!

Dr Konchwalla performed my ACL reconstruction (replacement) surgery in addition to fixing the torn meniscus. I am still in the very early stages of rehabilitation but I am highly impressed by his manner and expertise.

Before Dr Konchwalla, I had previously seen two other Orthopaedic Surgeons but neither of these left me satisfied. After reading heavily around the subject area (ACL and meniscus injuries), I gathered a list of recommended surgeons in the UAE, of which Dr Konchwalla was one of the most highly recommended.

He goes through his appointments at a fast pace so it's worth doing some reading and having your questions ready. Nevertheless, I have always been highly satisfied by the quality of service offered and I would happily recommend him.

I had been experiencing some pain in my right knee and heard about Dr Dandawate.

Dr Dandawate provided a thorough examination and post-visit follow up with an MRI. He then also gave a thorough review of the results.

I would highly recommend him, though be prepared to wait in the clinic for your appointment. It took about an hour past my appointment time to see Dr Dandawate... though the wait was for me, worth it. Dr. Dandawate is highly experienced and professional and provided various options for my particular knee issue.

Dr. Ashfaq is truly one of a kind doctor with his unique set of skills and experience. When I first met him, I was suffering from ACL, PCL and meniscal tear. I had visited many doctors, but there were none who could perform PCL surgery and hence after a lot of research I ended up with Dr. Ashfaq - as his reputation precedes him.

He promised me a fast recovery and delivered on his promise. I absolutely recommend him for surgery and would advise all people suffering from ligament injuries to immediately get it done with the surgery as prolonging it will only make matters worse.

After suffering from shoulder pain for a while I decided to do something about it. A search on the internet led me to contact Dr. Konchwalla, who seemed to have the best qualifications and experience to help me.

After contacting him and having surgery I can say I definitely was not disappointed. My surgery went exactly as planned and my recovery was precisely as he described it would be. My only regret in the whole experience is that I did not contact him much sooner.

I was having persistent pain when standing or walking short distances.

Dr. Chris diagnosed osteo-arthritis through extensive tests. We decided together that I would have hip replacement surgery, first on my right hip, and then my left hip.

Dr Ashfaq’s qualifications and extensive experience particularly in arthroscopic surgery led me to consult him originally for a meniscal/ACL injury I sustained to my knee 3 years ago. Surgery and recovery was, and has been, remarkable. The knee has been 100% trouble free since.

I had no hesitation, therefore, in seeking him out when a similar injury befell my other knee recently. Although only three weeks post op, I have no reason to believe that my recovery will be anything other than equally as good.

Dr. Chris Whately is an amazing surgeon. I tore my hamstring - completely severing it from the sit bone - and Dr. Whately reattached it superbly. The healing process was exactly as he said - progressing a little more each day. It was completely healed within 6 months, and at 7 months I am running 5 days a week and feeling better than ever! After 7 years when I faced knee problems I have been advised different surgeon, even I have made all arrangements in my home country, but truly speaking my inner was not satisfied to go anywhere and then I seek help from Almighty Allah in the night. I had a motorbike accident and was in the main hospital for 4 days, where I was told that I had broken my collarbone, requiring a plate, as well as my wrists in 2 places, requiring to open up and put cables in. I also had a hole in my knee, through which you could see the kneecap!

I discharged myself and went to Welcare, where I was in Dr. Dandawate's care. He indeed put the plate on my collarbone, but said that the wrist only had one fracture and that I only needed a cast for a month. A few weeks later I was fully functional again, without the requirement of cables in my arm. :o)

Dr. Dandawate was very soft but straight, and a real delight to be treated by. I very much appreciated his recommendations, and just over a year later I removed the plate/screws for my collarbone (as he did inform me that although I could leave it on for life, if I had another fall, the bits of bone in between the screws could fraction in smaller pieces vs. a probable cleaner break if the bone is alone). I have been recommending him to everyone I know and I'm glad that this website can follow him irrelevant of where he works. Thank you so much again.

Dr. Chris did two hip replacements on me in 2010 and 2011. He is very caring and spends time with his patients. He ensured that the care I got in the hospital was top notch.

I was in hip joint pain for almost 5 years, I'm only 25 years old but having a dislocation In my right hip. I have been directed to Dr. Chris.

Dr. Chris is an amazing doctor, he gave me time to help me with all the clarifications I needed. I trusted him and went for hip replacement surgery 2 weeks later. Was excellent and 100% successful, no pain within a few days. Now I am on week No 8 after the surgery and feeling pretty well.

Dr. Chris is my hero, I really love him and every visit I am asking for a hug to thank him for removing the pain from my hip joint.

Dr Asfaq is truly a specialised surgeon who almost can tell what your problem is just by examining you. He also is not commercially oriented like some other doctors who recommend procedures only for the money. Only if needed he would suggest a surgery or any further procedure. I suffered from pain & restrictive movement in my left shoulder after exercise in the gym for quite some time. I managed to see a specialist who advised me to go for surgery. I was afraid and wanted to try conservative approach. However, during April-17, my left shoulder got frozen and resulted in increased pain and restrictive movement. I had my second MRI during June-17 and I was told to go for surgery as the situation was getting bad.

I was having pain in my left knee after a long run and after an MRT test it was clear that something was wrong. I tore my ACL on that knee 8 years ago in Singapore and now by luck I met Dr Konchwalla in Saudi German hospital. He checked test results and advised that I had a meniscus tear.

Dr Konchwalla did a great job, not only on persuading me that I needed surgery, but he did surgery by himself. Everything during and after the operation went good. I even watched the whole surgery process on TV during the operation.

Recovery was quite fast and thanks to physiotherapy assigned by Dr Konchwalla, training and after 2 months, I feel very good and looking to start jogging in next 2 months.
