I was suffering from weight loss and lower abdominal pain. A colonoscopy showed that I have rectal cancer. A close friend recommended Dr. Ritu to get my surgery done from.

The first meeting with her convinced me that I needed a quick surgery followed by chemotherapy.

I had a laparoscopic anterior resection and was out of hospital in 5 days. I am now over with my chemotherapy and radiotherapy and hopefully cured.

Dr. Ritu did a proper explanation of my disease and treatment options. I was a cash paying patient and she optimized to treatment to a great extent so that my hospital stay was short and therefore expenses were reduced. She constantly encouraged me and motivated me. I was reluctant for chemotherapy but her motivation made me go for it.

She is confident in what she does. She is quite skilled. She has an important human touch which many doctors lack nowadays.

Dr. Ritu continues to encourage me at every step and keeps me motivated and going. I would recommend her any day for any major gastrointestinal surgery.

I had a sigmoid colectomy at Al Zahra Hospital performed by Dr Ritu and can highly recommend her. The operation was a great success and was fortunate that I did not require a stoma taking into account I had two contained perforations within a month prior the operation so there were risks involved at the time.

Dr Ritu was so kind and reassuring, always explaining everything in detail and I appreciated her honesty and directness as well. The whole experience with Dr Ritu and the medical team at Al Zahra Hospital in Dubai that attended to me made this experience comfortable and the care received from the lovely nursing staff on the 6th floor was unbelievable.

I would also like to say a big thank you to Dr Fillipos, the gastroenterologist at Al Zahra for being so efficient during this crisis and acting so quickly. He and Dr Ritu make a great team.
