Renata Von Kouh is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She graduated with Bachelors in Physiotherapy in 2003 from PUC University Campinas, Sao Paulo. With a background in dance and competitive sports, she has always been passionate about healing, movement and the human body furthered by the intrinsic study of different techniques to aid and assist patients through their healing process, finding and respecting their own pace and individuality. Renata has achieved a Masters and Mentorship in Pilates and Clinical Pilates through BASI (Body Arts and Science International® – in Los Angeles) and Post-graduate diploma in hydrotherapy (UNICID – Sao Paulo). She studied several Manual Therapy Techniques around the world such as: Maitland, Mulligan, Cyriax, Myofascial Release, DORN, KST (Koren Specific Technique) alignment and Kinesio Taping. Renata has also studied various other techniques, such as Spatial Medicine by Karin Locher-UK, FELDENKRAIS-New York, Hanna Somatic Movements, Alexander Technique, CST Structural Integration (Rolfing). Rolfing helps repair impaired connections between the brain and body and so improve body movement simultaneously to improving the physiological and psychological states. Renata is also a member of the Emirates Physiotherapy Society and Regional Council of Physical Therapy and Occupation Therapy of Sao Paulo (CREFFITO-3). Renata has practiced in Hospitals and Clinics, treating athletes and sports teams in and out events (Volleyball, KTM Motorbike, Crossfit, Rugby, Dragon Boat, Jiu-Jitsu), given workshops in companies such as Unilever, SpiderTech and in congresses in Brazil and the Middle East. She also treated specialist conditions such as spinal dysfunctions (Bulge and Herniated disc, Scoliosis etc..), woman’s health (pelvic floor rehabilitation), children’s health (foot issues, scoliosis and general rehabilitation), and chronic and neurological conditions (such as, hemiplegia, paraplegia, Multiple Sclerosis). She provides her patients with manual realignment, follow ups and guidance, teaching them awareness to reconnect with their bodies and showing the correct movements to prevent injuries occurring. Her goal is the avoidance and prevention of injuries through movement and awareness.
