Marilyne Lopes is a French physiotherapist, member of the UK Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and certified APPI Pilates Instructor. In the Middle East, she delivers a unique set of skills and women’s health expertise. Marilyne has received extensive training and experience in pelvic floor rehabilitation, pregnancy care, specialised pregnancy and maternity Clinical Pilates and manual therapy. She is a licensed Fit Back and Bump Instructor which is a comprehensive programme of pre and postnatal physical and educational training. She is trained in very specific and evidence based ‘Hypopressive Abdominal Gymnastics’ (De Gasquet & Caufriez Method), which is an effective and safe way to strengthen the core muscle, and ultrasound scan guided exercises, ideal for Post Natal Rehabilitation, Diastasis Recti and Stress Incontinence. While working in France, Marilyne specialised in paediatric physiotherapy treating children for orthopaedic and neurological conditions, and developed a special interest in respiratory care. The time spent working in France permitted her to acquire extensive practical skills. She was a member of the Bronchiolitis and Asthma Network for Babies in Bordeaux (AKIRESO), and was a staff member in the local region’s on-call support team. Marilyne also has expertise in sports physical rehabilitation. She has significant experience in the management of sports injuries both for adults and children. She constantly increases her range of treatment options which include manual therapy, Kinesio Taping and dry needling. Marilyne is also an APPI Certified Clinical Pilates instructor. She considers Pilates to be an excellent tool in rehabilitation after sports and spinal injuries, back and neck pain, and the management of overuse injuries occurring through sport. Using Clinical Pilates, she helps her patients strengthen their core muscles and promotes proper alignment and efficient movement.
