Specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 1996, Finland PhD 1998, Finland Sub-specialization in Fetal Medicine and High Risk pregnancies, 2002, Finland Finland Medical board certified since 1987 with MD diploma Dr Heli has worked in the Middle East during the period 2002-2012, most of which was in Bahrain as well as a year in Dubai in the Fetal Medicine Center with Dr Pour Mirza. Dr. Heli has since 2012 as a Specialist Obstetrician & Gynecologist in Oulu Finland in the Maternity Center performing, amongst other tasks, First Trimester U/S examinations (Nuchal Translucency with blood risk assessment) and Second Trimester scans (organ scans). The center screens 2700 mothers yearly, with deliveries in the associated University hospital with almost 4500 deliveries yearly. Mothers with growth-restricted fetuses (IUGR), gestational diabetes, mothers with hypertension and other chronic diseases (for example colitis ulserosa, and hypothyroidism) are under a more intense follow-up, as are mothers who are at an increased risk for preterm pregnancies and other pregnancy complications. There is a close collaboration with the Womens’ Hospital in the Oulu University Hospital, with weekly scientific and case meetings.
