Brenda is a Pediatric Physiotherapist who received her training in Brussels, Belgium. After graduating from the Katholieke Hogeschool Brussels in 1997, she worked in several hospitals in Belgium. Over the last 14 years of her career, she’s gained experience in working with babies and young children. She combined working in her own practice with her involvement in an early intervention project. She guided many families with babies or young children with developmental issues. She has done extensive postgraduate training including: Bobath NDT, Bobath NDT Baby course, Psychomotor therapy, Sherborne, Biodynamic Cranio Sacral therapy: working with mothers & babies, Baby massage & Baby gym. She can be consulted for: • Cranio Sacral baby check/alignment Assessment, therapy and follow up for babies and young children that: • have problems getting settled, are crying a lot, have problems with breastfeeding, reflux, cramps, frequent ear infections • tend to look at one preferred side, appear to ignore the other side • have congenital torticollis, hip problems, scoliosis • don’t like tummy time • use one side of their body more than the other side • are late with achieving milestones like holding their head, rolling over, sitting, changing from one position into another, crawling, walking • have plagiocephaly (a flattened head) • have a plexus brachialis injury • feel floppy • feel hyper tone/ stiff • are born prematurely and need follow-up on motor development & playing skills • have a developmental delay caused by syndromes such as Down Syndrome, Prader Willi, Shprintzen, Sotos, Angelman or un-determined genetic problems, epilepsy, metabolic diseases, neurofibromatosis… • are diagnosed with cerebral palsy • are clumsy, have problems with posture, balance • have problems with fine motor skills and handwriting In her therapy sessions Brenda uses a combination of non invasive techniques completed with tailor-made advice for parents on how they can adjust their approach towards their baby during playtime, feeding, nursing and other daily activities in order to stimulate their child’s development outside the therapy sessions.
