Dr Amber Syed United Arab Emirates

Dr Amber Syed trained as an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in UK. During her training she completed the Membership from the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in London. She completed her training in 2011, and has worked as a Consultant in the NHS ever since. She has over 15 years of experience of working in the speciality. Prior to joining the team at Health Bay, she was working as a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at University Hospital of Wales (UHW) - the largest hospital in Wales and one of the largest hospitals in UK. Her special interests include early pregnancy and gynaecology scanning, management of early pregnancy complications such as miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy, laparoscopic surgery, and obstetrics. She provides a holistic package of care and believes in a multidisciplinary management approach in certain cases. In her opinion pregnancy is not an illness, rather a normal physiological event. In her words, “pregnancy can be an anxious time, leading up to a joyous event. My role is to support women during pregnancy, and provide care suited to the individual woman”. She believes in demedicalization of normal pregnancy. She supports women’s choices surrounding birth, and defines her role in the management of labour and delivery as more supportive, rather than interventional. She is a great supporter of normal vaginal delivery. She believes that effective communication with clients and colleagues is integral to enhancing client experience, winning confidence of both colleagues and clients, and improving clinical outcome.
