Dr Alia Issa United Arab Emirates

Dr. Alia Issa is a German Board certified Specialist in Ophthalmology. She graduated in 2010 from the Faculty of Medicine Carl Gustav Carus in Dresden, Germany and subsequently received her PhD in Ophthalmology in the field of Glaucoma Research in 2011. Prior to starting her career in Ophthalmology she worked in the field of Internal Medicine at the medical center in Dresden- Blasewitz (Germany), from early 2011 till mid 2012. She then started her residency in Ophthalmology at one of Germany’s leading hospitals: Schlosspark-Klinik Berlin, an academic teaching hospital of the Charité Berlin (which is the largest academic hospital in Germany). There, she expanded her qualification and knowledge in Ophthalmology, has dealt with the full range of ophthalmic diseases, including corneal diseases, glaucoma and retinal diseases. She also gained fundamental experience within laser treatments of the anterior and posterior chamber of the eye and cross linking procedures for Keratoconus patients. Dr. Alia Issa previously worked at Healthbay from 2017 – 2018 and in early 2019 she strategically decided to move back to Germany to expand and intensify her qualification in Ophthalmology and worked at the Elbland- Augenzentrum- Radebeul, a leading Eye-center for Glaucoma treatment in the region. She then successfully obtained the title “Facharzt für Augenheilkunde” (Medical specialist in Ophthalmology) within the same year, in October 2019.
